Create Rebellion Chapter 4 review

Chapter 4 is the chapter that Robbie really lays into the haters. His usage of metaphors is at an all-time high in this chapter. He may have had the Book of Revelation open when he was writing this.
He begins by claiming that throughout your “creative journey” you will encounter “snarling beasts of envy “ who want to oppress, battle and belittle you.
I have been making and selling my art (first mixed media collage and in the last few years hand embroidery) for the last ten years. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I have never found this to be true.
Robbie states that the people that want to bring you down are sometimes people you know. He’s vague but he suggests that these could be friends and family. Regardless, he says you must excise them from your life.
Robbie refers to people that don’t support your journey a “filthy demographic” of “purposeless people”. He says one must act quickly to get rid of them or YOU could become a “diseased member of their epidemic of complacency and whoredom.”
[this calls for the Cheri Oteri “Simma Down Now” .gif]
He continues: “Revolt against this faction’s pathetic pornography” and “expose their pastimes of staying on porches of criticism and enjoying lounge chairs of scorn”. Seriously, it says that. Verbatim.
If Robbie wasn’t Mormon, I would wonder if he was on LSD when he wrote this.
Robbie rambles religiously on about how the haters are just jealous, unhappy losers. He warns that you might hesitate to cut ties with people that you know but do it anyway because your holy journey is worth it.
A seemingly-seething and bitter Robbie wants you to “reach into your keen mind” and be confident and positive.
He takes a slight turn and advises the reader to observe the creators around you and figure out who is the real deal and who is just “wearing a cloak of disguise”. Why one would need to bother with this is beyond me. It seems like a useless waste of time. Who cares who is and who is not a “real” artist? And why are we supposed to be judging others’ work? Robbie isn’t telling once again.
The “author” says that “members and seekers of the High Order” (???) can always tell who is and isn’t a seeker or s member of this “sacred society”. I guess “High Order” means people who Robbie considers to be “real” artists.
Robbie thinks “blind ambition” is not a negative phrase and that one should strive to have blind ambition. “As you speed down this highway toward fulfillment, the fumes from your engine will light the night sky with an aurora borealis of hope”. What the ever-loving fuck.
He concludes this “chapter” by saying that one should allow others to “gaze at the magic you create”.
He further states that the “all-knowing Cartographer” has made a map for you to decipher which will guide you in a safe arrival to somewhere. Also, make sure you “taunt the naysayers with the beauty of your inspired vision”.
Just imagine what kind of student Robbie must have been in high school. He probably thought he was the funniest, most clever “being” that ever graced the classrooms at his Parowen, Utah high school. He probably waited until the last minute to do his homework and proceeded to bitch about any grade less than an A. How he has any friends that could tolerate him for more than an hour at a time is a mystery. He can’t write for shit and thinks he is a 21st century beat poet.
